Columbia Pictures have recently released a brand new trailer for their latest feature, Annie. The movie is adapted from the Tony-Award winning musical of the same name, with Academy Award nominee Quvenzhané Wallis starring as Annie herself. Wallis took Hollywood by storm last year with her stunning performance in Beasts of the Southern Wild, earning her an Oscar nomination at the age of nine (the youngest ever to receive a nomination in her category of Best Actress).
The film will follow the story of a young foster child from Harlem who is brought up by a rich man named Will Stacks (played by Jamie Foxx). The movie also stars Cameron Diaz in the Miss Hannigan role, after Sandra Bullock dropped out, along with Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne.
The film has kept the famous songs from the original, including musical classics “Tomorrow” & “Hard Knock Life”. Will Gluck is directing the movie, with a large producing team including Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, James Lassiter, Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith, Jay Brown, and Caleeb Pinkett.
