About Focus Film

Focus Film is the newest destination for film lovers, providing its readership with the latest and greatest movie news, information and reviews on a daily basis.

Our philosophy here is very simple, we love movies and want to share our passion with as many people as we can who feel the same way. Only people who are extremely passionate about movies are chosen to write for us, so you can be sure that whatever you’re reading was written with genuine enthusiasm.

Focus Film launched in the spring of 2013, and is helmed by Editor-In-Chief and Founder, Sarah Napier. The site was dreamed up whilst Sarah was studying at University in Britain. She wanted to create a casual environment on the internet where enthusiastic film fans, like herself, could regularly come to share their passion for movies, and could be updated with the latest happenings from the world behind the silver screen.

Bio: Sarah is the founder and editor-in-chief of Focus Film. She is currently studying English Literature BA Hons in England and is an avid film lover. She is a jack of many trades, with experience in web design, journalism, social media, graphic design and networking. She started out writing for Mockingjay.net and Page to Premiere before realising her dream of creating her very own movie site. Sarah has covered a range of events in her short time as a reporter, such as film premieres and Q&A’s. She loves travelling the world and meeting new people.

Bio: Sophie is Focus Film’s Managing Editor and is a frequent contributor to the site. She is currently studying a French and Spanish Joint BA Hons at a University in the North of England. Sophie has a great passion for both Travel and Foreign Cinema, as well as an innate fascination with journalism and writing which developed from a lifelong fondness for literature and film. As well as her work with Focus, Sophie enjoys fattening up her friends and family with regular culinary experimentation.

Bio: Jack is a graduate of film studies from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ, and is currently seeking his MFA in Screenwriting at the Academy of Art.  He is a screen-writer, film critic, director, and editor, and has also done camera-work for web-series, doccumentaries and shorts.  Currently Jack is seeking distribution for his feature film drama, “Green Eyes“, co-produced a sci-fi feature, Audrey Lorea‘s ‘Heaven is Now.‘, as well as a comedy pilot called ‘Losers’ which is being shopped around to networks.  He is also a contributing writer for Focus Film, as well as Film Forward. Some of his other reviews can be found on his blog cinetarium.blogspot.com.  Jack is a vociferous fan of films and will watch anything interesting, foreign and domestic. He survives by his wife, a political science professor, and currently resides in Little Ferry, New Jersey, USA.

Bio: Holly has a passion for film, writing, theatre and art, and has studied Drama, Media and Art. She recently graduated from Salford University with first class honours after studying a three year theory based film course. She has studied a wide variety of topics including; Gender Theories, Classical Hollywood Cinema, British Comedy, European Cinema and finally her favourite, Film Journalism. Holly also enjoys gaining practical film experience, and has recently acted as script supervisor on a feature, as well as having worked at several film festivals. Aside from her love of film, Holly is a keen baker, cook and doodler. She also loves to watch anything made by Tim Burton or Edgar Wright.
