‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1′ First Teaser
By Jack Gattanella on Thu 26 Jun, 2014
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is almost half a year away from release, but that hasn’t stopped the filmmakers from getting people worldwide a glimpse of what’s to come. The first teaser for the movie, which is a minute and a half long, is more of a “promotional video” via the Capital and President Snow (Donald Sutherland, in all white, with a white backdrop).
The video is basically a (to put it lightly) passive-aggressive statement to the citizens of Panem – “”If you resist the system, you starve yourself. If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed.” – with Josh Hutcherson’s Peeta standing by his side (who as you may recall from the end of Catching Fire was taken by the Capital). It’s a clever piece of marketing that fans of the books will recognize and works tremendously as satirical propaganda in the world of the story.
The film opens this November via Lions Gate. Check it out below. Excited for the next installment? Think they got the tone right? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter @
