
Vampire Academy is the much anticipated adaption of the young adult book series by Richelle Mead. The Entertainment One film due for release spring 2014 has just been given it’s UK trailer, which can be viewed below.

Rose and Lissa are two high school students trying to get through the normal dramas – vicious rumours, ex-boyfriends and bloodlust. Late nights and high stakes are normal at St Vladimir’s, better known as the Vampire Academy.
Directed by Mike Waters and adapted for screen by Daniel Waters, the film tells the tale of Rose Hathaway, a Dhampir, meaning half human, half vampire. Whilst studying at St Vladimir’s Academy she will train to protect Moroi,who co-exist peacefully among the humans, and kill Strigoi, blood-sucking, evil vampires who drink to kill. Along with her best friend, Princess Vasilisa Dragomir, Rose must run away from St Vladimir’s, in order to protect Lissa from those who wish to harm the princess and use her for their own means. The cast includes lead actresses Zoey Deutch and Lucy Fry, who play Rose and Lissa respectively. Who are joined by Sarah Hyland, Olga Kurylenko, Joely Richardson and Gabriel Byrne.
