TRAILER: ‘Paddington Bear’ Featuring Nicole Kidman & Colin Firth

paddington

Beloved by children and families worldwide, and particularly in Great Britain where the character originated in books, Paddington Bear is finally getting a movie – this was reported on months ago, but now there is a trailer for all to see online (courtesy of Telegraph).

The trailer has lively music, fun comedy with stars Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman, and of course the titular bear himself.  As far as these animated-characters-in-the-real-world movies go, it certainly looks better animated than, say, Smurfs or Alvin and the Chipmunks.  Whether it will all totally translate to being full of laughs is yet to be seen, but this one is certainly promising.

Being released by the Weinstein Company, and from one of the producers of Harry Potter, David Heyman, for a big Christmas release it posits to bring in as much of the family crowd as possible, especially those with young children.
