Trailer: Philip Seymour Hoffman’s final films release trailers

Willem Dafoe and Philip Seymour Hoffman in ‘A Most Wanted Man’

Two of the last films featuring Philip Seymour Hoffman, God’s Pocket and A Most Wanted Man, have seen the release of their first trailers.

God’s Pocket sees the directorial debut from Mad Men actor John Slattery, with Hoffman staring as Mickey Scarpato, dealing with the suspicious death of his stepson in a construction accident.

Based on the book of the same name by Pete Dexter, the screenplay has been adapted by Alex Metcalf. The film also stars Christina Hendricks and John Turturro.

A Most Wanted Man, based on the novel by John le Carré, sees Hoffman staring as Günther Bachmann, tracking down an illegal immigrant hiding in Hamburg who gets caught up in the war on terror.

Directed by Anton Corbijn, the film stars Robin Wright, Willem Dafoe and Rachel McAdams.

Both films premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, shortly before Hoffman’s death on 2nd February 2014.

Hoffman will also appear in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, which he was filming when he died. Split into two films, part 1 will be released in November 2014 and part 2 in November 2015.

A Most Wanted Man doesn’t yet have a release date, but IFC films will release God’s Pocket with limited distribution on 9th May 2014.
