New ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Clip
Earlier this week The Hunger Games fan page released an exclusive clip from the second film in the series, Catching Fire which is in cinemas from November 21st.
The clip shows an emotional Katniss speaking to Mentor Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) about President Snow visiting her, which up till now neither Haymitch nor Peeta were aware of. The clip shows Katniss’ fear as she begs her mentor to “Help us get through this.” Snow is worried about rebellions in the 12 districts of Panem during the victory tour of Peeta and Katniss.
The second film in the trilogy (which will be made into four films as Mockingjay is being released in two parts), based on Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novels, sees the two victors compete in the gruesome tradition of the Quarter Quell. This is for the 75th Hunger Games which involves past victors fighting against one another, something which occurs every 25 years.
The clip was posted by Lionsgate to the official page of The Hunger Games after a 45 minute long Q&A for Google Hangouts. The panel featured both Josh Hutcherson (Peeta) and Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss) as well as director of the final three films, Francis Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth who plays Gale. The Q&A was a part of ‘Global Fan Day’ and saw six lucky fans take part in the event, each asking the panel a question.
