Man of Steel may have been released back in June this year but we now have a new trailer for the film, Screen Junkies have released their latest ‘Honest Trailer’ based on the Superman film. It seems Screen Junkies weren’t massive fans of the latest installment of the franchise stating “prepare for a mopey, violent reboot, guaranteed to depress adults and frighten small children”, questioning the casting of British star Henry Cavill as ‘one of America’s greatest icons’, and concluding by saying that if you are to actually enjoy the film you are nothing but a ‘phsyco’.
The film directed by Zack Snyder follows the story penned by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer, of Superman’s childhood and growing up trying to understand his powers, but will meeting his father and discovering his past help or hinder his chances of saving the world. He must decide who to listen to his human father from earth, played by Kevin Costner, who wants his son to fit into the human race and says “hide your powers and let innocent people die,” while his kryptonian father, portrayed by Russell Crowe, tells him to inspire humanity with his gifts. In the trailers view you can “Watch Superman honor them both, as he shows off his powers and lets innocent people die”. Also staring Amy Adams as love interest Lois Lane and Michael Shannon as evil villain General Zod.
So if you want to see the rather scathing yet amusing review by Screen Junkies check out the clip below.
What do you make of the trailer and if you’ve seen the film do you agree?
