Eli Roth will bring his unique brand of horror back to the cinema after announcing he is to direct his latest screenwriting project, upcoming horror movie Knock Knock which he co-wrote with Nicolas Lopez and Guillermo Amoedo. The trio also co-wrote 2012’s Aftershock.
The news follows the success of Roth’s The Green Inferno which has been approved for a sequel. Knock Knock follows two young girls who seduce a married man and then begin to ruin his perfect life. /Film notes that this is a move away from traditional horror tropes in which men are usually the perpetrators.
Roth is also attached to direct Warner Bros. Dracula movie Harker. This recent flurry in directorial projects follows Roth’s six year hiatus after Hostel:Part II. During that time the versatile director kept busy, starring in mentor Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards and producing a number of films, including The Last Exorcism and the sequel, The Last Exorcism Part II.
The Wrap reports that production on Knock Knock will start in April.
