According to IMDB making a film from the concept of World of Warcraft is not a new one, German director/producer/writer Uew Boll had approached Blizzard Entertainment previously and had been refused the rights to the movie, Sam Raimi was also set to direct the film a few years ago. The visual effects for the film will be provided by Mark G. Soper who has worked on Iron Man 3 and Captain America, along with Bill Westenhofer who has provided visual effects for Life of Pi, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and The Golden Compass, he has won two Oscars and two BAFTAs for his work.

Warcraft is a franchise of novels and video games created by Blizzard Entertainment. The film is said to cover the Warcraft: Orcs & Humans series of the games. The movie is being filmed in Vancouver, Legendary Pictures announced over Twitter and will be released in March 2016.  The film’s release has been moved to 2016 from its earlier December 18th 2015 date so it does not clash with the release of Star Wars: Episode VII.
