President Jane Campion’s jury for the 2014 Cannes Film Festival has been announced in full, with actors and filmmakers from across the globe taking part in judging eighteen films in competition for the Palm D’Or (plus more in the Un Certain Regard category).
Among the jury are returning Cannes filmmakers - Sofia Coppola, who screened The Bling Ring last year at the festival, and Nicolas Winding Refn, who won the award for best director for the thriller Drive at the 2011 festival – and actors from Cannes-screened.winning films like Willem Dafoe (Wild at Heart, Antichrist) and Gael Garcia Bernal (Babel).
They’ll be judging in-competition films such as Jean-Luc Godard’s Goodbye to Language 3D, Mike Leigh’s Mr. Turner, David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars, and Bennett Miller’s Foxcatcher. Grace of Monaco, starring Nicole Kidman, is the opening night film but playing out of competition.
