Trailer: New Images and First Official Trailer For Guardians of the Galaxy!
Yesterday several new images from Marvel’s upcoming picture Guardians of the Galaxy were released. This was the day before Marvel released the first official trailer for the movie, which will be hitting our screens on August 1st in the UK.
The images provide a glimpse into the strange, deep-space world created by Guardians screenplay writer and director, James Gunn. IMDB describe the plot as; “In the far reaches of space, an American pilot named Peter Quill finds himself the object of a manhunt after stealing an orb coveted by the villainous Ronan.”
Marvel have been spending their time promoting the Captain America sequel with the film being released in March. However Chris Pratt appeared on US chat show, Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday and the first official Guardians trailer appeared with him. The majority of clips in the trailer were shown at Comic-Con last year, however Empire note that there is new footage of “Rocket, Groot and the rest and with Pratt channeling his inner Han Solo.”
Pratt plays Peter Quill, or Star-Lord as he prefers to be addressed, and alongside him we are introduced to Gamora, a green killer played by Zoe Saldana. Groot, a tree-man who reminds me of a less-slow Tree Beard, is played by Vin Diesel with Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket Raccoon and Lee Pace playing the bad guy, Ronan the Accuser. WWF Raw fighter Dave Bautista will also appear, playing the role of Drax the Destroyer.

Other stars in the feature include Peter Serafinowicz, John C. Reilly, Benico Del Toro, Glen Close and Dr Who’s right hand woman, Karen Gillan. The official synopsis describes the film;
