
The New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2013 took place … and with the results in, they have given the highest honour at the awards of Best Film to David O Russell‘s latest movie, American Hustle. Themovie was the defining favourite at these awards, with a total of three wins. The movie also picked up Best Screenplay, and Best Supporting Actress for Jennifer Lawrence.
The Critics Circle gave the award of Best Actor to Robert Redford for his work in All is Lost, and Best Actress went to Cate Blanchett for Woody Allen‘s Blue Jasmine. Although these awards do not determine Awards Season favourites, last year the NYFCC tapped Zero Dark Thirty for Best Film, which as we know, ended up with an Oscar nod for Best Picture.
The NYFCC Awards are seen as perhaps the first indicators of the main contenders in Award Season, as they are the first to judge achievements in film over the past year. See the final results of the voting below:
