Carrie Fisher has said that she, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill will all return to star in Star Wars: Episode VII.

There have been casting rumours around since the next film installment of the series was announced in 2013, but Fisher appears to have confirmed that the original trio will return – Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Harrison as Hans Solo and Fisher as Princess Leia.

Speaking to TV Guide, Fisher said; “I’d like to wear my old [cinnamon buns] hairstyle again, but with white hair…I think that would be funny.”

Fisher also said that filming is due to begin in March or April in the UK. Director and co-writer, J.J. Abrams, has previously said that production would begin at Pinewood Studios in spring 2014.

Last week, Abrams also confirmed that the script was complete and filming was ready to begin.

Reports have suggested that Star Wars: Episode VII will centre on the original trio, and Episode VIII and Episode IX will follow the lives of their children.

Until an official press release regarding the cast is released, we can only assume these rumours are true.

Star Wars: Episode VII will be released in the UK on 18th December 2015.

I just hope that Carrie Fisher is not joking this time and all three of them will in fact be in the new movie.
